In other words if they do well, it proves the thesis that their immense chains of suppliers and partners are set to do well off the back of them.

Brexit damaged Britain's trade in goods.
Brexit didn't affect Britain's trade in services v much.
Taken together, Britain's trade in goods and services is higher than before Brexit.
But the damage Brexit caused left them lower than they would have been had Brexit not happened.
