Israeli strikes on the historic coastal city of Tyre and other parts of southern Lebanon killed at least 17 people yesterday, with scores more wounded.
A formal motion of no-confidence filed against Arwa Elrayess, the president of the Oxford Union, has failed.
The motion required 150 valid signatures. A total of 116 signatures were received
The news comes after Elrayess came under fire over leaked WhatsApp messages pertaining to Hamas.
"An Israeli patrol took away Kfarshuba municipal council member Mohammad Hassan al-Hajj and worker Ahmad Salah Diab, taking them to an unknown location," Lebanon's state-run National News Agency said.
Kfarshuba is among a few Christian-majority southern villages.
