Could be looking at tropical storm Arthur..

Bit of a northwest (🌧) to southeast (🌤) split with our weather this week... Hotting up too in the SE 30C possible Friday

Heat building in the days ahead across the S and E Low to mid 30sC possible SE The UK June record high is 35.6C Meanwhile, a record breaking heatwave developing across parts of the near continent

A mixed week of weather ahead Warmer too though..notably towards the SE..

A reminder, we define a heatwave as 3 days or more with temperatures at least meeting these thresholds..

Worth noting the set of criteria used to formerly declare El Nino onset..

UK climate extremes

NHC has initiated advisories on Potential Tropical Cyclone One (formerly AL90) located over southern Texas. Potential Tropical Cyclone Advisories (PTC Advisories) are issued when there is high confidence that the disturbance will develop into a storm and bring significant impacts.

Temperatures will be well above average, pushing into the mid 30s (°C) by Monday. Not only that, but it will also become very humid and muggy, especially in the south during both day and night, meaning it’s likely to feel even hotter than the heatwave we experienced in May 🥵
