I've been busy with my actual-pays-me-money-job and writing has fallen to the side.
This year I've pushed myself really hard, and I've got 3 books I'm really proud of with another in the works.
It's almost the solstice and this feels like the right time to stop.

Writing is mostly making sure the reader can follow which character you're talking about...how many times will I exchange he/she/they for a characters actual name?

I'm juggling 3 WiPs...one is having it's opening judged. One is in a drawer before I return for another edit. The other is staring me down, angry I'd left it alone so long and demanding a full rewrite.
This post is mostly an explanation for future me as to why I'm tired.

Ok, first 3 chapters off (again) to get notes. Hopefully, they're better than they were. Meanwhile, let's continue polishing the rest of the manuscript so when my agent tells me she loves the opening and needs the rest of it, it's ready and waiting.

I've been away in Scotland for a week and I've returned to a heatwave. I'm sitting here trying to remember how to write, while the cat wanders the house looking for cool patches of floor to flop onto.

I am not writing. I am procrastinating, unable to focus because I'm going away and my cat has left it to the last minute to learn how to get in and out of the flat through a window.
Today she did it and I'm super proud, however I am not writing and I blame her. She doesn't care.
