Hard to overstate how sharp Turkey's descent into unvarnished authoritarianism is right now; at one point this would be major news, a cause of consternation in Brussels and Washington.
Today, it seems to barely cause raised eyebrows.
Ousting the main opposition party's leadership is obviously a huge escalation. I am not sure though whether this constitutes THE turning point for autocratization in Turkey. IMO, this move was possible because democratic institutions and rule of law are already dismantled.
