Metal-Detecting RPG The Detectorist Guild Announced
PQube and Full Stop Studios have announced metal-detecting cozy village-life RPG The Detectorist Guild. The game puts players in Yorkshire at the turn of the millennium and is planned to release for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch in early 2027.
The Detectorist Guild puts players in the role of budding detectorist James in the peaceful countryside village of Shiverly. Using his metal detector, he helps the villagers locate prized belongings while discovering artefacts revealing stories from the past. However, he soon learns of a dark secret hidden beneath the village's cozy appearance.
The game features 2.5 graphics and includes simulated metal detecting mechanics, including adjustable frequency, ground balance, and sensitivity controls. Players can choose to donate relics to the local museum and learn more about the village’s past, or sell them at the village emporium.
