I love movies. I love movie theaters. But there is nothing quite like going to an art museum. I feel incredibly alive and emotional in those spaces. It's even better when you walk around with someone else and share the experience, talking back and forth about which works speak to you and move you.
I hope this doesn't sound patronising but go and see art. The Hockney talk has reminded me again that seeing art in the flesh is a very different experience to seeing it on a screen. You understand why people cry in art galleries. It's not just the gift shop prices.
