I clearly have not had enough coffee today. This was supposed to read, "like he HAS at the Kennedy Center." That's it. two typos in two minutes means making more coffee.

Art:
I have an interest in statues of women since there are way fewer of them then statues of men. This is "Mother Iowa". She sits outside the State Capitol building in Des Moines. “Mother” is one of eleven bronze statues that make up the monument honoring Iowa's Civil War Veterans.
This is Trump donor and Mar-a-Lago neighbor John Cafaro who got the no-bid contract to install a water purification system for the reflecting pool. He has 2 prior convictions--one for bribing a member of Congress and another for an illegal loan that violated campaign finance laws. Cartoon villain.
How long do you think it will be before Trump puts a tarp over the reflecting pool and a guard to guard it, like he as at the Kennedy Center?
This is one of my favorite statues of a woman:

I hadn't even heard the story of this white terrorist who yelled racist slurs at a Black family reunion in Lee County, GA who then went home, donned body armor, grabbed an AR-15, came back and shot up the place (luckily hitting no one). A Marine grabbed his gun and injured the shooter, Tyler Kinzer.

"On the east and west sides, noted Iowa generals and battle scenes are pictured along the base. On the north side, a youthful “Mother Iowa” offers nourishment to her children. To the south, "History" gazes into the future, and "Iowa" is portrayed as a youngster."

Iowa sculptor Harriet Ketcham won a competition to design of the monument. Her winning sketches showed no “Mother Iowa”. When Ketcham died prematurely in 1890, Danish sculptor Carl Rohl-Smith, who was living in New York City at the time and was the ‘low bid’, was commissioned to execute the work.
