This is so fucking gross. When a man is raping a trans woman, she is supposed to shout, "just so you know, I'm trans". Like that is supposed to make a bloody difference. Is a rapist going to admit he was told this or is he going to lie? He is a rapist, he isn't going to tell the truth.
The idea that a trans person, who is a victim of rape, could be prosecuted because they failed to disclose they were trans to their attacker is frightening.
Although the Met qualified that they wouldn’t, other forces were less forthcoming.
Merseyside’s response was particularly disturbing.
