Wanted to do something for @batshaped.bsky.social Hello From Halo Head's upcoming anniversary this Friday, and who better to draw than the undisputed best cat, Mars herself! I thought the Chrono Trigger Frog-flex fit her pretty nicely! ;D

God I love love love that she doesn't have a mouth in that third panel. There's something about that that just like. Lights up the neurones in my brain.
Something about her look being literally wordless, about the idea that the perfect version of her doesn't need to say anything at all
Really beautifully done, lots of great imagery here w/the division between reality and the sketchy world.
One subtle thing I really like is Real Mars being high up on the stairs, which evokes their conversation where Achilles remarked how Mars could get up higher than anyone else in Halo Head.

when he thinks of her he thinks of the night where they hung out and he appreciated her for more than her ability to hurt him.. and the view of her and the night sky
the rose imagery.. they grow better with little attention then everyone else gets to enjoy them too..

I also like how the white flower he imagines is not unlike the one he got earlier in the day, worried that just like earlier he'll be left holding nothing but the petals, the tender attention and care his flowers got will come to nothing, unsure how to reach out and hold onto this messy thing he has
