This is Baby. She is celebrating her first ever International Corgi Day today. Personally thinks she should be celebrated every day, but this is a good start. 14/10 (IG: cooperandbaby_corgi)
My latest for @policymag.bsky.social “we should not be looking for a change of heart in the Kremlin, but for signs of a systemic failure [..] Until then, hopes for a “negotiated settlement” serve only to prolong the bloodshed. Russia will not take an off-ramp; it needs to be defeated.”

Short letter with @jimgoldgeier.bsky.social in @intsecurity.bsky.social, replying to Posen's "Putin's Preventive War" article, & his reply. To my mind he doesn't really engage our argument or evidence. See for yourself. If you can't access, email me 4 a copy. See next post 4 our full article. 1/2

Thing is - where do they think AI got these tropes from? Presumably from good writers.
So grim. In the 1990s I visited China. The faculty there couldn’t believe I designed my own courses. They kept asking the same question in different ways thinking I hadn’t understood. I assumed that China would come to adopt Western freedoms, not US would adopt central control.
On one hand, we have President Volodymyr Zelensky’s open letter to Vladimir Putin, a document that invites the Russian president to a face-to-face meeting to

english isn't for cowards. if you're not saying 'torpify,' that's a skill issue. there's no Académie Française telling you what to do. if you try to type 'pallific' and freak out when you see a little red underline, maybe you're not ready to roll with the big dogs.

Indeed, one can simply work with the growing body of empirical evidence and base the assessment entirely on it—but that would also require listening to the societies that have been directly and for generations affected by Russian imperialist aggression, and that is what has too often been lacking

“The Auburn University Board of Trustees on Friday gave itself complete control over course offerings, curriculum, degree requirements and academic credentials while eliminating shared governance at the Alabama land-grant university… The policy leaves many questions unanswered”
Lol. Hey AI checkers, you're not taking my freaking —'s away. Before AI existed I had set up keyboard combinations to make them, because that's how I write. So this is why they say it's 100% AI. Because 6 emdashes, 1 triad, and 1 ai phrase ("relentless"). Fucking hell.

The policies mirror the directives laid out in HB 580, which doesn’t take effect until October and doesn’t apply to the institution.

It's common to talk about how in Europe Russia is "constructed" as expansionist and tyrannical. This view passes as insightful and nuanced but it is either a delusion or a manipulation. Russia just IS those things most of the time. No need to construct anything. Just observe.
