MIL made it to Whangamata, and Uncle R remained alive during the trip.

Just now on the way home, probably the same dunces used the downhill lane of the country's busiest cycle path to put down signage, blocking easily 150m of the lane.
This is a motorway for cyclists. Do not block ANY of it!

Weird thing that happened today!
I was cycling over the Upper Queen St motorway bridge when I noticed the cycle path was blocked. Fine, so I use the footpath/former cycle path.
A few metres around the corner are the traffic control people pottering around; clearly, they just blocked the cycle path.
