The word "ignorant" is individualist propaganda. Implying there is something wrong with a person, that they should be ashamed because they didn't receive knowledge.
An "ignorant" person is not a failure. It's someone who has been failed.

I grew up reading dystopian sci-fi novels, but I never read one where an evil AI constantly adjusts to perfectly manipulate and make everyone addicted to it.

It's so politically correct to say someone has "employees" or "stocks" or "passive income."
Just say they're welfare queens who are too lazy to work. Just say they're dependent on free handouts that the government takes from people who work.
