One of the quietly interesting parts of TNG's time jump - and The Undiscovered Country, which was written nearly a decade after that decision was made - is that in a full rewatch the peace won in STVI is worth something because the endless conflict of TOS is over!
One of the things I like about @wolf359project.bsky.social is they manage to get across how relatively peaceful the last 60-70 years have been for the Federation
