If drivers are going to insist on using cycle lanes can the road be closed and used for walking and cycling safely, away from drivers?

He clearly didn't listen to the bit where the local party deselected their leader, replaced him with one that only lasted a couple of years, then continued infighting resulted in the party putting itself into a minority administration with its third leader.

Everyone thinks it won't happen to them: they're a Good Driver. That they're only checking their phone for a second:

That case is heartbreaking - as are the other recent ones. But they are not unusual.
We worked out last year there was an average of 10 people injured every week in collisions in #Newcastle alone.
There needs to be a nation campaign to get people to go and vote at the next general election. Apathy is a friend to racism and the far right. Even better, make voting compulsory.
Aye. There's also probably something to reflect on, being elected with a massive majority, on a promise of "change" and then failing to be able to articulate what actually changed.
It wasn't Local Government finance. It wasn't really anything tangible people could put their finger on.

There is a direct line from "not immediately condemning hooligans marking out their territory with flags as wrong 'uns" to "pogroms on the streets of the UK". One was always going to lead to another. The best time to stop this was then, the next best time is now.
Not holding my breath though.
