This seems like big news for Saint Paul. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Hear, hear! Thank you, @seankershaw.bsky.social
This is a great idea.
The sentiment of this comic came to my mind when I read this article from today's Star Tribune: www.startribune.com/republicans-... Frustrating to see Republicans balk at the cost of transit projects even as we pay far more to widen I-494 and replace the Blatnik Bridge by Duluth.

Saint Paul faces real challenges, but I’m still optimistic. I’ve seen the momentum firsthand at @sustainstpaul.bsky.social, with community members, partners, and local leaders all stepping up. Every gift this month is matched up to $1,500. Help us get there: www.sustainstpaul.org/donate

The Northern Lights Express train has bipartisan support, and the Republican advocating for it said he’s disappointed by the delegation’s letter urging elimination of funding.

One of the biggest disinformation campaigns ever applied to cities involves the constant claims that “driving pays its way.” It’s actually MASSIVELY subsidized, while things like walking, biking, public transit & supportive housing for the unhoused actually SAVE PUBLIC MONEY. #UrbanTruth

(1/5) As @seankershaw.bsky.social steps down from his role as Director of Public Works for Saint Paul, it’s hard to overstate the impact of his leadership of the department. www.twincities.com/2026/04/07/d...

HF1167 would ax the NLX train (Mpls to Duluth) Years of community work & MNDOT investment down the drain, b/c trains are essentially 'a handout.' There is a belief that transit should pay for itself b/c of a notion that roads, airports, etc. pay for themselves. They don't. (More on this soon) 1/2

Minnesota should do this and to make it real simple for everyone to understand just make the tax 10% of listed gross vehicle weight (averaged across all trim lvls). My 4th gen RAV4 would be something like $346.65/yr

Downtown St. Paul doesn't just need your love. It needs some sugar... a big daddy with deep pockets and a long-term strategy, someone who made a lot of money in real estate and isn't just out to flip buildings. Could Jamie Rand be the man? He says he just bought... www.twincities.com/2026/04/22/n...

New investor buys into downtown as St. Paul mayor lays out growth priorities
We need a vehicle weight tax. If you can justify buying an $80k, 3,000 kg Wagoneer to haul one bag of groceries, taxpayers shouldn't be subsidizing your pavement wear and tear plus the added danger to our streets. If you can afford the payments, you can afford to stop asking society to subsidize it.
