"An important climate test is coming up for the Labour government: whether to approve drilling of Rosebank – Britain’s largest undeveloped oil field. "UNISON is one of ten trade-unions who are urging Labour to reject this application." @andreaegangs.bsky.social in @labourlist.bsky.social

New research shows that pollution from Rosebank, if approved, would dwarf the Scottish Government’s already limited efforts to tackle climate change. The answer is clear: We MUST stop Rosebank. www.heraldscotland.com/news/2619360...
Stop Rosebank

100 days since Trump and Netanyahu attacked Iran and sent global energy prices SOARING. Who else thinks we need to free ourselves from this fossil fuel rollercoaster?
UK should not invest in new North Sea oil – Dr Fatih Birol, IEA chief "I don't understand how in the UK this becomes a discussion." "You cannot have an impact on international oil price. UK is a price-taker not a price-maker" "The future of UK's energy system is electrification."
The government is moving in the right direction by shifting the UK to a renewable energy system that protects people from these risks. But it must resist calls from Trump and the oil lobby to deepen our dependence on fossil fuels, and reject new oil and gas fields like Rosebank for good.
Drilling for new oil and gas fields in the North Sea will do absolutely nothing to lower bills. It will just lock us further into a volatile energy system dictated by petrostates. Every year we stay reliant on oil and gas is another year we gamble with household bills.
Scottish ministers are being told they must not “shirk responsibility” for the “enormous damage” the planned Rosebank oil and gas field…
