Okay so it's unlikely that politics can avert fascism. Priorities then are: 1. Sabotage the building of concentration camps. 2. Foster English civic nationalism so there's an exit route. Lates!
If the government moved from twitter to bluesky they would just do anxious lameposting like everyone else, pleading to imagined gods. If I had a monopoly on legal violence and rich enemies, oligarchs would be getting defenestrated!

I'm thinking more to the next hundred years. The single market, unlike e.g. China, can keep expanding without hostility. If we get a single overarching human rights framework for a borderless planet, we can maybe keep developing technology indefinitely.
