Here is a gift link to Simon Schama's appreciation of David Hockney's life and art which we ran last year. It's an amazing piece and contains, as you might imagine, some spectacular pictures including an absolute corker of Hackney with Lucian Freud as.ft.com/r/f1473f70-0...
I’ve obviously sacked off Top of the Pop, lads.

The now famous 25 minute ‘House of Pain’ break.
First time I’ve watched. Great fun. They’re all going to have a terrible tournament aren’t they?
There's probably never been a better time to remind you that when David Hockney first took his Mum to California she remarked 'all this lovely weather and nobody puts their washing out'.
Giroud and Rooney.
Quite intrigued by Canada v Bosnia this evening. Canadians seem to have developed a physical style and carry a goal threat with Larin and David. I’ve also seen enough to be very excited about Alajbegovic and Bajraktarevic for their opponents. Former on SAFC radar, I see. What a move that would be.
