We cannot accept a deal that rewards investors for failure or lets a water company off the hook for damaging our rivers and failing to maintain our critical infrastructure. My constituents, along with all the 16mn customers served by Thames Water, deserve better than this deal.

I'm very glad to see the government has raised objections to the current Thames Water deal proposed by its creditors. I've previously written to Ofwat to ask them to reject this deal.

My constituents want to be dealt with fairly by water companies, which makes it even more important that Ofwat rejects the deal proposed by TW’s creditors, to get them off the hook for environmental pollution.
As one of the 61 MPs who called for this ban previously, I’m especially looking forward to working with Kanishka Narayan to get it through Parliament and am grateful for his leadership on this issue. (3/3)
I really welcome today's announcement that the government will be bringing in a social media ban for under 16s, after the consultation found the overwhelming majority of parents support it. (1/3)
