The fellows are here! This week, we welcomed the 2026 fellows and @science.org interns to Washington, DC at @aaas.org. They kicked off with a writing workshop and informative sessions for our alumni. We can't wait to see their work in #SciComm as they head off to their newsrooms!
Please reshare! Two more #scicomm resources: "The beginner's guide to a career in science writing, 2.0," and a guide to applying to the AAAS Mass Media Fellowship. 🔗👇
Five years ago today (pictured), I found out that I got the AAAS MMF, which changed the course of my life.
Thank you @npr.org for a fantastic tour! Follow us to see all the stories the fellows will write and produce as they dive into the world of science journalism for the next 10 weeks. ✍️ #SciComm @aaas.org

Yesterday at #AAASmtg, @maxlevy.bsky.social (MMF '20) accepted his award at the AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Awards Ceremony. He won for his piece in Quanta Magazine on electrostatic ecology. "I feel honestly as if I have the best job in the world," he said. Congrats Max!

🌵 Join us on February 14 at @aaas.org Annual Meeting to hear from our fellows! @michalruprecht.com, @smallthoughts.bsky.social and @peterha2l.bsky.social will be sharing their experiences as #MassMediaFellows, bringing their scientific expertise to newsrooms across the country.
I’m so excited to announce that I have been selected as a 2026 @aaas.org Mass Media Fellow @aaasmassmedia.bsky.social ! I’ll be spending my summer in DC, writing for @sciencenews.bsky.social ! I am so honored to be part of this exceptional cohort!
Finally back from the #AAASmtg, and I had such a wonderful and energizing time meeting other scientists and science advocates across so many disciplines. I also had a great time talking about @aaasmassmedia.bsky.social with @michalruprecht.com @peterha2l.bsky.social @livmonahan.bsky.social
So excited to share a story I wrote for
@snexplores.bsky.social on how some animals make themselves (almost) invisible - and why humans can't do the same! My last piece written as a
@aaasmassmedia.bsky.social, and probably the one I had the most fun working on.
