Part 2: I have made this clear to his school. I don't make him catch up on school work that day but he must catch up and stay on top of his studies. His school has recently raised concerns under the "every missed day is missed learning" hoping for others views
Part 1: I am wanting to pick others brain... Since my son entered high school (currently year 11) I have allowed him to have a "mental health day". This is a day that he can take (with some parameters - no ax day, needs to keep engaging with his MH supports) when he needs a day off to reset.
Thank you to all that stopped by and engaged with my poster titled “Navigating complexity: Gender affirming care from the dual perspective of a mental health nurse and parent”. Gender affirming care is a human right not a political football.
Thank you @acmhn.bsky.social for this honour and recognition. Undertaking my PhD and becoming a credentialed mental health nurse have always been on my bucket list.
