Any recommendations for a book about this?
The common wisdom is that non violence is more politically effective. Did these tactics actually help or hurt the political movement to reduce cars? If it helped, who was influenced, and did organizers miss better ways to reach them?

Increasingly concerned that the infrastructure won't change, until after pressure rises enough for those consequences to occur.
It would be better if everyone who thinks that's suboptimal would support reforms now (infrastructure, enforcement, mode shift through congestion pricing etc)
