Astrocyte-microglia crosstalk via CSF1 and IFN-β promotes central nervous system repair
Following focal CNS injury, coordinated actions of astrocytes and microglia in wound closure implicate their co-regulation by direct intercellular communication, understanding of which is incomplete. Cao et al. report positive feedback regulation between astrocytes and microglia via CSF1 and IFN-β that is beneficial to repair of the injured spinal cord.
