~ Váli asks, “What do you like about him? Like how did you know . . . ‘That’s the one I want’?”
Oddly, Váli smiles supportively.
He might not understand the dynamic, but he has to trust that two adults know what works for them.
“If you’re safe, and you like him, I think that’s all that matters.”
Then, Váli ponders his wording.
“Or if not safe, then it’s what you want.” After a pause, ~
Well . . . cold wouldn’t bother a half-Jötun. Plus, he’s more concerned with making sure she’s okay.
Váli takes her hand and, as carefully, as he can, he begins removing the glass.
“What happened?” he asks softly.
Does she want to talk about it?
Váli blinks.
“Umm . . .”
He’s trying not to be judgmental. He’s a non-judgmental guy.
“And you still have a crush on him?”
Seems . . . maybe not healthy.
He won’t point that out if she won’t.
As for her parents, he’s sure they are great, but he would be more than content with this one friend.
“So . . . what do you like to do? Do you have a hobby?”
