Poli Sci fact: people do not & have never had ideologically consistent beliefs. I will add this is most pronounced in times of uncertainty when people want change but do not have a developed ideological or practical program for change. That’s what political parties & other civic endeavors are for.
A new poll from the New York Times shows potential Democratic voters want the party to move to the right, are happy with where it is ideologically, and rate socialism highly. Huh?

The number is actually 97.1% if you include the little shuffling around between nonbinary and binary identities that happened, but it is *remarkable* how rock-steady at 97-98% youth trans self-identification is.
