I wonder needlessly at the comforts of other bugs. Often those beneath the Citadel wear little more than rags to keep them from the chilled frosts up above, warmed instead by toil and the pools of fire below. Those who live within the great structure itself, too, rarely fare any better.
For so long have they lived under tyranny and scrutiny that they see these things as sin, gratuitous weights upon their shoulders that they themselves are undeserving of. Sentiments I see echoed, in part, from aspects of my childhood.
Will they, too, in time, come to accept their wants and needs?
