Whether youβre working on embedded systems, bare-metal firmware, or just want to chat about the future of the ecosystem, letβs grab a coffee and catch up!
See you there!
wanna hear about what it's like teaching Rust in higher education? learn about the embedded scene? the hippy lore of unconfs? all that and more in the interview with Bart Massey!

> **only bounds** are going to be the most impactful change to Rust that youβve never heard of. This post explores the feature and aims to answer a particular question about the design (the scope of bounds, Iβll explain).

This paper finds that Rust on an microcontroller costs you about 10% extra flash space, actually saves you a bunch of RAM, and takes no extra time to deliver (as compared to C).
Seems about right - especially as the C version needed a heap and the Rust version did not.

For all Silicon Labs EFR32 Rust fans I just published crates.io/crates/silab.... It follows the same idea as crates.io/crates/stm32...
> Arm and Ferrous Systems bring Rust to Cortex-R82AE, enabling memory-safe, high-performance real-time systems for physical AI
Working on this has very rewarding and I can't wait to see what you build on top of these building blocks.

Write embedded drivers without the MCU in your dev loop. Pico de Gallo turns a Pi Pico 2 into a USB-attached IΒ²C/SPI/UART/GPIO/ADC/1-Wire bridge, so your driver is just a cargo run binary talking to real silicon from your laptop. Build one for your chip β balbi.sh/posts/writin...
The real highlight is the community itself: a unique mix of incredibly smart, kind, and collaborative people.
If you are attending the conference or participating in the Rust Embedded Work Group Unconference, Iβd love to connect.
Just arrived in the Netherlands for #RustWeek. I am incredibly excited to be heading back this year for a whole week of #Rustlang events.
My experience last year set a high bar: fantastic host city (#Utrecht), great venues, and flawless organization (#RustNL). Itβs a brilliant event.
