Hey, Internet! Has anyone ever seen an official stated reason why, in the wake of FFIV, Final Fantasy V was never given a State-side release in the SNES days? We can all speculate, obviously, but have Square-Enix or Nintendo ever commented on it?

I broke the habit of a lifetime and got really *nerdy* earlier, because I wanted to check something. There's every chance that 2028/29 will be the first year that we haven't had one of either Star Trek and/or Doctor Who on TV/movie screens in some form... since 1963. Yikes. (Stargate for flavour.)
