Once again this Labour Government does bad stuff.
Active travel money is rare enough, but to allow LAs to use it as generic highways money is a betrayal.
But betrayal is what we expect from this shower.
More funding for cycling and walking is good news but councils/councillors need to develop the bravery to actually deliver strong interventions that will support (and push!) modal shift. If they cave to drivers (sorry, "residents" or "traders") every time we won't see anything much happen!
#Rochdale is a town with significant chronic illness made worse by an environment that discourages walking and cycling.
By building #ActiveTravel infrastructure such as the Castleton beeline we can address this #TheMiraclePill @walkridegm.org.uk
