Weird - I wrote a military history dissertation, and it wasn't 50 years ago... I mean, I don't think Bill Parks would RECOGNIZE it as a military history - very little discussion of battles and generals - but it was very much a military history. And a women's history...

Someone is unhappy that historians don’t do history like 50 years ago. Maybe it has to do with the fact that (check notes) 50 years have passed, and therefore methodologies have evolved, as they should. 🙄
