Okay so...while it's not the best scenario, you CAN Actually rent or buy this movie digitally through Amazon and or check it out through Kanopy if you prefer.
Been looking forward to this movie for years since it was first announced. I hope I can see it this year and some distributor (probably GKIDS) will pick it up.
For those that may not know, Cartoon Saloon has a new movie coming out this year, and it's very exciting. Sure, you can be more excited for Tom Moore's new film, but any new film by Cartoon Saloon is always worth being excited for, especially when it's a new director and not just the same two folks.
Once again, China is putting out some really cool or fun stuff in their feature animation, but we are sadly not able to see them unless they get leaked online or the rare distributor pick up.
From "Julián", the new feature film by Cartoon Saloon studio (Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea, Wolfwalkers...), directed by Louise Bagnall.
Set to premiere this month at Annecy Festival.

This is cool we are apparently getting this in the west, why not try and get a distributor to help put it out in wider release? Whenever I see these films come out in my neck of the woods, they are never at theaters near me. I understand these don't have the widest releases, but I want to see it!
It is criminal that there is no friggin way to watch this masterpiece of animation. It’s wonderful and I’m still waiting for someone to bring it over.
I've been patiently waiting to finally see this movie for a good year or so now ever since it was announced that it was by the team behind Odd Taxi. Of course it makes sense that GKIDS picked it up.
Really wish there was a way to cover the animated films playing at Annecy. I would love to cover Tangles, Le Corset, Lucy Lost, and others playing into the main competition and Contrechamp section. These movies deserve more spotlight put on them.
