It’s time for #Germany to get serious about foreign policy. No cheap talk anymore about the ”rules-based order“ while the double standards are plain obvious. Beyond the surface, the result reflects Germany's limbo & strategic dilemma: 1/
(National Security Strategy) or has become entirely uncalculable (Potus). Yet, Germany failed to build new alliances outside Europe (& economic relations beyond China) as it did not understand that the world had changed. 3/
This also includes Europe where many have not forgotten what we did during the eurozone crisis or how some courted Orban. 6/
Nobody cares that we pay quite a bit for the UN btw. Money does not bail you out of strategic limbo. We really have to get on our knees and start with simple confidence building measures. 5/
