I often wonder if the Ice Cream Truck Guy that heads past on my street everyday on his way to the local Middle School for dismissal time, pays attention to the school calendar; or if just one day in June he shows up, waits for a bit...."Well, it was good while it lasted."
How many people would use freeways if they were 1/2 mile long and not connected to any other roads?
The first day I heard him coming this spring, two neighbors had work crews at their houses, landscaping. They had to whistle and shout for a while, I assume to get him to stop. They must've had to "chase" a bit to get him to stop, I think he was half ignoring them so he didn't miss the bell.

There are absolutely bike lanes that are not heavily used. But the correct response is to analyze why they're not being used, instead of saying, "Let's rip them out!" It turns out that a strip of a paint on an otherwise busy road doesn't make people feel safe and make them want to bike.
