Today I leave the keys of the MFA of Iceland in capable hands. I sincerely wish her all the best.
Iceland has never been as close with our NATO allies, the USA, the NB8 family of like-minded states & the EEA-partners.
On a personal note. It will be an adjustment to leave a job I have loved.
My focus has been on being a worthy & reliable partner & to contribute whenever possible to our common interests & ideals. Ergo continuing to support our friends in Ukraine against Russian terror &stay vigilant against those who seek to undermine liberal democracy &foment chaos in Western societies.
