Hey so this feature sucks ass for editing and preservation. These default-on automatic captions get burned into the video file itself. You cannot download a clean version of the clip. That means they're in the way when editing. Not to mention the STT inaccuracies. This is effectively vandalism.

Yeah that's not at all going to work. Also as a society we are not remotely ready to get rid of copyright. Doing so would cause more problems than it would solve, even without genAI issues. A lot of other things would need to change first
🤔 You think so? that sounds like it would be way more work. AND they need to spend the cycles re-rendering the video, which can't be cheap at scale.

Agreed, most if not all rules can be broken at times but it needs to be done with consideration.
