The first time I’ve ever managed to pot a Silverfish, Lepisma saccharinum. I usually get a glimpse at 3am when they scurry across the kitchen floor.
Until the last year or so our Shropshire wildlife recording group had not found this tiny fly, Stiphrisoma sabulosum, but we seem to have got our eye in for it now, discovering it at various sites around the county. This one is from the town cemetery in Shrewsbury. Suction sampling helps!
A good mooch this afternoon in north Shropshire, finding Myrrha 18-guttata (18-spot Ladybird), Scymnus auritus (Oak Ladybird), Stethorus pusillus (Dot Ladybird) and Clitostethus arcuatus (Horseshoe Ladybird) amongst others! #VC40Ladybirds #MicroLadybird

Tapped this lovely Cetonia sp from vegetation in the Ardennes in France last month. He absolutely refused to 'come to life', but this gave me the opportunity to admire the beautiful underside! 😍 #Scarabaeidae #Ardennes #France
My latest egg batch of rare Large Marsh Grasshoppers hatched this morning. Heading to Norfolk in a few weeks.
“Small Marsh Grasshoppers”! 🥰

Finally caught up with Boat bug on the Isle of Wight at the weekend, and despite the rather tricky weather conditions there were plenty of other shieldbugs as well - Crucifer, Ornate, Hairy, Green and Dock bug.
