Local businesses grew by 2,000 and rural population went up 4.7%. Most of the money was spent, causing "an increase in new businesses in essential services such as restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, and hair and beauty salons."

As humans, we make assumptions about others, & are often reluctant to correct these even when evidence shows otherwise.
Many, for example, believe Universal Basic Income #UBI won't work bc everyone will stop working - when time & again we've shown that's not what happens.
A truly moronic opinion from Ted Jenkin at Fox News. People are already ready to start torching data centers. Do you honestly think you can just tell them to go get another job if they lose theirs to AI? We all trained the AI. We should all benefit. As productivity rises, as should our dividend.
The fact these people don't ever suggest basic income really says something about them.
