Personally, outside of speeding up some statistical analyses, I’m yet to see a single thing that AI is actually useful for. I’m bewildered as to why so many people are falling for tech companys’ obvious bullshit.
Her comment about the 4 in 5 reveals a fundamental misunderstanding about the economic importance of HE as a sector, partnerships with local industry and the NHS, and that other rather important work of universities alongside teaching - research.
They: “We cannot ban AI from the classroom!”
Us: “Would you allow students to smoke in class?”
