I understand framing the AI bubble RAM supply crisis in terms of stuff like video game consoles because nerds can conceptualize that but the framing does really undersell the sheer magnitude of how it's going to fuck up everything that even touches a computer.

MTPE (machine translation w/ post-edit) is just another tool of people who think this way. They don't know and have no way of knowing if their TL is accurate. They stubbornly insist generative algorithms produce reliable work that just needs a little spitshine, despite all evidence to the contrary.
This is the take I keep coming back to. NVIDIA is going to vomit on itself to impress shareholders and that's fine, that's what corporations do, but I'm hurt by how much Digital Foundry has lost my trust over this. It feels like the worst parts of "access journalism," it's PR disguised as reporting.

I think Twitter was a “right place, right time” situation in its prime but now all social media has been weaponized as a disinformation campaign, so it’s not so much that bluesky is worse (it’s better than x is) it’s just that everything is worse, and it’s harder to cut through the noise/nonsense
