The new DR trailer feels like a dream but not like "oh this is so crazy I'm dreaming" but more like "i had a dream ch5 was announced and it was super sad and the whole theme was that the characters were in denial that they were gonna die and it was Japanese for some reason and there was flowey"
I'm not saying games can't have realistic artstyle, a lot of games do it great and make it work, the problem is when things are done just for it to "look real" and overgoing gameplay clarity
Games looking like movies is a bad thing actually, because movies look like that for the atmosphere, and videogames need to have visuals that help you understand functionality, things that are important are supposed to stand out visually, not just look like any other hyper realistic asset
