Lavi would probably not get over Karlach dying. They braved hell together to get her partners heart fixed, having Karlach die on her would break her. Her friends would make sure, she isn't alone, but she would probably bury herself in her work for a very long time.
The man, Rulan, turned out to be a Bhaalspawn and took over again from Orin,after he killed her. Vayu had to stop him to get the Netherstone. Rulan was also responsible for Alys death, another reason to stop him for good. Vayu was a broken man after Rulan vanished and before he knew the truth.

Merryn is a forest gnome storm sorcerer/archfey warlock (Sea Guardian) and grew up in the Circus of the Last Days.
Mirabelle is a lightfoot halfling and ranger/druid. She is a harper from Waterdeep and works in the arcane library part time

Liya is my half elf / half Gur bard/feylock, my second big blorbo
Liral is my githzerai Aberrant Mind sorceress and raised by an Ilmateri
She is good friends with Donnick, he is like a big brother for her.
She works in the city guard as the magical equivalent of a forensic evidence collector at crime scenes. She is disgusted by the amount of corruption in the guard, but works well with Devella, who has similar views about this
Liya just had that happen. Her girlfriend before Olenna, Alys, was murdered. And she was devastated. Without Vayu and Lavi, she would have not been able to move on. It took her a long time to even consider getting together with someone again.
Vayu had to kill the man, he thought, he would marry.
While Lavi would appreciate the inventions that Hephaistos and Athene made, she would hate the cruelty and vanity of the gods.
Liya would look to the muses, especially Euterpe, muse of music, and she would like the idea of inspiring people and help them to get better.
A bit more about Liral: She stranded in Faerun after a portal accident as a child and sadly was snatched by a necromancer, who expermented on her and other children. This brought her Abberant Mind abilities forward. She was saved by an Ilmater paladin and raised in the temple in Rivington.
