Once I’d learned to recognize the pattern, it was easy to ignore the AI-generated pitches that regurgitated a summary of some recent episode then tried to tie it in to some completely unrelated book or potential guest. Those just got deleted. 2/n
But I’m being a bit baffled by the current, clearly hand-crafted pitch for a book/author with no queer or female content at all who, after being politely told no, is now pestering me to do their research and identify more suitable shows for them to contact. 3/n

I do so love Austrian Copper roses, even though they have such a short blooming period.

As I regularly post, I love it when authors and others contact me about being potential guests on the Lesbian Historic Motif Podcast. And I’m quite understanding about getting on a publicist’s list for LGBTQ+ books, regardless of representation and setting. 1/n
Also: enormous thanks to Nicholas Whyte, Dave Langford, and others for commentary, corrections, and pointers to additional data. An updated version of the work will be published later (as an ebook) that incorporates and credits this feedback.

But please: authors, historians, artists, bloggers and podcasters, anyone doing work adjacent to lesbian/sapphic history — I am delighted to cross-promote your work or interview you on the podcast. (Though: emphasis on the “cross” when I’m asked to promote other shows.) 5/5

And by “pestering” I mean repeated emails after I said I didn’t have any recommendations. I mean, I’m happy to be a good networker and pass on leads when I have them, but they’re the one presumably being paid as a publicist. 4/n
