If it gets its way, the US House would drastically reduce funding for transit & rail systems.
The House's proposed legislation—supported by GOP & Dems—would cut overall authorized transit funding by 15% compared to the current law, and reduce potential funding for projects like new lines by 45%.
As currently drafted, BUILD America 250 would likely reinforce the United States’ car dependence, depriving Americans of affordable travel options and degrad…www.urban.org
You shouldn’t have to work twice as hard to get around Seattle without a car.

I authored this letter to fight for Seattle residents and their tax dollars. In addition to millions that would be directed away from our community, I'm concerned with the precedent this "cap" would set for Seattle. I'm grateful to my colleagues for signing on and hopeful for the path forward.
If you liked my world cup transit maps, you're in luck! They're available in paper copies! Look for them out and about!

The Seattle Transit Measure is up for renewal, and Mayor Katie Wilson just proposed adding 100,000 more bus trips a year and doubling free ORCA cards for low-income riders. Good transit keeps Seattle ...
I'm catching plenty of reader comments that say "What about New York?" "What about Chicago and Washington, D.C.?" A little known subtlety, found in the National Transit Database, tells us that metro Seattle transit use is slightly more per capita than Chicago, and similar totals to Philly.
In a letter to King County Councilmembers, eight members of the Seattle City Council call a proposed Seattle-only cap on pass-through funding from a new countywide 0.1% sales tax "not acceptable nor equitable" and ask that it be fully dropped at Friday's planned vote.
