Aaaaaaaaaaaaand of course I’m blamed for what’s going on at my job. What. Ever. I won’t be here much longer anyway.
Kids aren’t punching bags. I have to wonder why people are so anti-critical thinking that they immediately hate the people who estrange their parents. Obviously people do that for a reason! It’s not natural for us to estrange a parent, so think about why that is. Think, and don’t judge.
A show of hands for anyone neurodivergent who’s been treated like shit because other people expected you to read their minds. Raise both if that was at work. I’ll start. βœ‹πŸ»πŸ€šπŸ»
It’s an old Tumblr post, but it’s still true. Looking at you, my love. πŸ‘€
What I’ve come to understand about critics of people estranging their parents is one thing. They won’t understand their hypocrisy. These people see the ends of parents’ lives. What about all the years before? Parents estranged their kids all the time. Hell, they still do. So what’s the difference?
The fact that the parents are older? The kids have self-respect? The sadism in their sick fantasies of estranged children begging for their parents’ forgiveness? The fact is, people are not narcissistic for cutting off their parents. Parents don’t have to hit to be abusive. I should know.
And for god’s sake, don’t use your religion as a goddamn excuse for your judgmental stupidity! Religious people are more often than not the most judgmental and idiotic people in the entire world. Sometimes the best way to honor your parents is to not be like them. Think before you speak.
