Sciences, Engineering, and Arts are some of the evergreen jobs, but are also some of the hardest to get into due to the time needed to get trained. Or in the case of the Arts it could be very crowded depending on the world
Or you can try getting into politics, but that is a whole other mess

Alternatively they could choose to go off world and work as part of the crew for a ship or station.
Or perhaps people might immigrate to less developed worlds where there are a lot more options to find jobs. But also less general protections since those worlds might lack as much automation.

No matter what branch you go into though you need to know how to fight, fly a ship, and have at least some survival skills.
You will be sent all over Coalition Space to help protect the peace.

If you have combat apptitude though you could join the Inter-Gallactic Protectorate (IGP), which are effectively the major defense force of the Coalition independant from any specific world.
A few branches in the IGP are Soldiers, Gaurds, Rescue, Scouts, and Research.

For my Science Fantasy setting most common jobs are still kinda similar to what you'd expect, but a job isn't vital for living on Coalition Worlds thanks to a standard universal income, nutriants, and medical care being given to every citizen.

So options for jobs are somewhat limited. Factory and Office jobs are almost completely absent on the more advanced worlds. And anything that is potentiall dangerous is out of the picture as well.
This forces people who want work to hyper specialize in order to get work.

You can still expect to see Shop keepers, guards, engineers, etc
Jobs more fill the roll of giving people a routine and allowing them to earn extra funds. Though, kind of unfortunately, a lot of meanial tasks have been illiminated on the more advanced worlds thanks to automation.
