BTW, i can remember DG as a small(ish) town. Went to see the then newly restored “Lawrence of Arabia” in 70 mm at the Tivoli 5 times!
I was over a railroad embankment from the direction it was coming from. I was inspecting the Sauk City bridges on the old Milwaukee Road’s Prairie du Chien branch. Wasn’t as powerful as I first feared, though it did go on down the river and scatter some mobile homes about. Memorable.
They’re terrifyingly, strangely beautiful. This wall of black comes at you, and it‘s blue-black and brown black and silvery metallic black. Then you get pelted with dirt and rocks, then the eye, a strange, roaring calm then the second wall. It’s something.

slushy organ that rose up out of the stage floor (vaudeville) and back down before the picture. Place was always packed. I used to go there to see movies I didn't even want to see.

Oh, I was a locomotive engineer out here in red rock country for over 30 years. A lot of my life has been like that line from the original Blade Runner: “I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe”. Nice to meetcha, btw. I’m Dana.
