In 2021 the town of Lytton burned to the ground during the #BCHeatDome that killed over 600 people. Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs) used for catching tuna are drifting into Marine Protected Areas and destroying coral reefs and marine ecosystems. Approximately 100,000 FADs are released into the ocean every year, and about 90% eventually get lost after 1 year. www.cbc.ca/news/science...
