Not recommending The Trespasser as Isle of Wight holiday reading material!
Decided to start on #DHLawrence last year after a lifetime of avoiding. Slow progress. No. 1, The White Peacock is straightforwardly good in all kinds of ways. No. 2 The Trespasser, 1912, is very strangely written indeed, sometimes repulsive. More than once I wished he had burned it . . . /
