They would rather punish the child for who they are vs punishing themselves for what they allowed uncles, aunts and others to get away with all in the name of patriarchy.
They’re afraid that’s the reason their kid turned out a certain way and they lack accountability and purposely miseducated themselves on understanding that these different identities exist.
I think one big reason Black people are so homophobic and especially transphobic is because they’re low-key guilty about how they let predators do stuff to their kids.
I have always maintained that in order for you to be homophobic and especially transphobic, you have to be predatory in some form of your mindset.
